had a good lunch tdy. went with 3 of my colleagues (all frm HR dept) to eat at a restaurant called 莆田 at Marina Square. the lunch was paid by the company. think it's some thanksgiving lunch or whatnot la. so we choose the place, we eat the food, they pay the bill. haha. so shuang right. i've only started work for around 2 wks, and got company lunch treat already. HAHA. had a nice time talking and joking with my colleagues over lunch, we laughed alot la. they can be really humorous. the things they say, their expressions when describing their stories and whatnots.
and i guess, when we are all so giggly, whatever you say is also funny.
my manager, hwee shu: xiao mei, how's yr 'chang mao'? ('chang mao' is lemon-grass in hokkien/teochew. i was eating lemon-grass jelly with fruits)
me: ..nt bad
colleague, sharon: you shldnt ask like that lor, shld ask "is your 'chang mao' DESSERT nice?" ... you suddenly say "how's your chang mao?" sounds so.... you know~...
and we all started laughing. laughed until my face so hot la. hahaha. (ok la, maybe you dnt get it. but nvm. haha. cos of the previous things they were saying, makes whatever that was said in this 'chang mao' conversation sound very funny)
i was uploading a newly submitted resume into the system tdy and i was super amused by the candidate's particulars. haha. the candidate's name is.... Ronald W. Macdonald. NO KIDDING! really! i thought i see wrongly la. and and, the address (overseas one la. cos foreigner mah.) is.. Cherry Lane. like, what?? cherry lane?! i mean, it's quite possible that there is such a street name overseas la. but you know. the idea of the name and the address just makes me feel super amused. and for a moment, i even wonder if the person is trying to be funny.. my colleague, anne, said "for all you know, maybe he's really related to the Macdonalds person ah.." [of cos she meant the person who started Macdonalds.. not the guy with 2 big feet and red hair. haha]
work has been quite good so far. the pple are funny and nice. and it gets more interesting as i start to hear more abt the inside news of the office. i guess they have no qualms abt telling me the "office politics". cos afterall, im a temp mah. haha.
and i still am amazed at how fast the days just go by. everyday i wake up at like 6.30am, feeling groggy and all, den wash up, go to work. and before i know it, a day is over alr. amazing hor? i guess when you're kept busy, time will fly like nobody's business.
