maybe i shld blog abt my whole trip to Chiang Rai Grace Home. smthg to share with everyone. so many things to share. but i know words alone is not enough to describe. for such things must be experienced by oneself.

i still remember. waking up at 4.30am in the morning and the sun is still not up! but surprising considering the fact that i fall aslp at 2am and i cn still wake up at 4am. haa (: got ready and den we went to pick up aunty helen. reach the Changi airport at abt 6.30am.

check-in our lugguage and tons of boxes. haa. pple will be thinking that we`re returning back to our hometown or smthg. haa (: after that we had a group prayer and then we entered the departure gate and off we went (:

reach bangkok at abt 10am plus. was waiting for our transit flight to chiang rai. had to wait for like 4 hrs plus. was realli bored. spent my time reading the newspaper and listening to my iPod. oh. and i think Shimu got me hooked on the xinyao songs. though previously i found them quite nice to listen to la. but since she kept hearing it and i was hearing it too. i think i got influenced (: haa.

then at last off to Chiang Rai!! (:
reach there at abt 3pm plus. then we went to Big C, a shopping mall there, to buy our stuff like water and , for some of the team pple, tooth paste etc .. then of we go to Grace Home!! excited excited!! when we were in the truck travelling to Grace Home, cos the wind was blowing too la, so looking at the scenery and smelling the fresh air, i simply fell in love with the countryside. as we approach nearer and nearer to Grace Home, all of us got more and more excited (:

at long last!! we reached!! let`s just skip the moving part and dinner part and go straight to the gifts part. as we handed out the gifts to the kids there. looking at them smiling, happy that they got a gift be it a pen or a book or smthg, they`re just so happy. and looking at their genuine smile brings a smile on my face too. after that we mingle ard talk tgther. getting to know each other again. and then it was time for them to go slp while me and noelle went to shimu`s rm to bathe, cos we dn have a toilet in our rm. and the water is so So SO COLD!! haa (: and then it was off to slp!

woke up at 5am(thailand time from now on) but din dare to go out cos the kids are still slping, and everyone else too. so i wait and wait. till i fell aslp. woke up again at 6.30am. got out of the room with noelle. heard the kids singing (: wonderful voices. loud too (: then we went to wash up and had our breakfast.

then some of the older kids had to go for a graduation ceremony at the bible college to sing a song i think. so we played some games with the younger kids. they`re realli funny la. looking at them play brings laughter to all of us. they`re realli rough too la. haa. rough till han en and kevin din dare to play with them :D

then in the afternoon, we brought the kids to Big C for their rare KFC meal. they hardly get to eat fast food. only when we come and visit them and bring them out, den they get to eat. then it was free time for them to wonder abt. den it was time to go home (:

after dinner. we taught them new songs. haa. teaching them to sing is actually easy la. but i think there was one song which took them half an hour and we taught them 3 new songs, and the time taken was too long, in the end the english class that nite was postponed to next day. okay that aside. when you hear them sing, they realli sing out loud. nothing ashamed of. and it made me felt very touched. i dnoe why la. after that me and noelle talked with some of the girls there, Pu Ying, Mi Na, Mi Du, Mi Pa etc ... and then we had to go slp.

12Mar (debbie` s bdae!)
had worship service at 10am to abt 12pm. den after lunch some of the kids had their afternoon nap till 3pm. so in between some of us did some art&craft. some of us fold paper hearts and stars. some of them sew a pouch. and i cn tell you they are very talented. the pouches that they sewed. very nice (: as we fold we talked and laughed. very relaxing (: den after that it was english lesson!!

haa. me and noelle were kinda scared la. cos first time teaching ma. but den my students are like so cute la. they`re eager to learn. and they will be like, (in chinese) " teacher teacher. the second sentence how to say?" then i`ll teach them. time passes very fast la. 1hr 30mins. den after lesson some of the kids went to water the vegetables that they planted themselves, some clean the compound.

after cleaning up, all of us went to help out at the kitchen, plucking the vegetables, chili, cutting the meat etc .. work and laugh all the way. haa (: then at night it was time for our steamboat dinner!! it was great, as we ate, we watched a movie, using the projector. so it was kind-of like the old time those type of drive-in movie kind. very nice! (: but then i think aunty helen was not feeling well. and she vomitted and all. okay. that part aside. that night everyone was very very tired. so i knocked off the moment i touched the bed (:

we went on hse visitation to one of the children`s home. they were building their hse halfway la. nth much there. after that we visited 2 schs. and then we went to have our ice-cream at Swensens! (: it is superduper cheap la. one big cup for 59baht (less than s$3) !! haa. den we went to walked and shop at the night market. by dinner time i was so tired. that i din even want to eat. on the way home i was super quiet la. cos i was too tired to talk. den when the others laugh i din laugh. too tired la. den they thought wad happen to me. i was like " too tired [give the no strength look]" haa :P by the time we reached home, it was very late at night. so everyone was slping. haa me and noelle had to tiptoe back to our rm. cos we`re afraid we wake the young girls up :P

we took a public bus out to their town Mae-Chan. the kids brought us to see their morning market. haa. nth to buy la. cos almost all the same things. had lunhc outside and then went back home. in the evening, me noelle, mi na, ya fei, pu ying, pu piao, mi du went for a walk outside. the scenery was beautiful. and the village life :) we went to feed the ostrichs there. haa. very funny la. we den had to head back for dinner.at night we had english class again. english class is always fun la :) after that we talked till late at night and went to slp.

15Mar
taught them to sing a new song again. then they had their games while i went to practice my songs. Mi Neng came back too. she used to be a child from the home. but she left already. but she still comes back la. anyway. din noe her well that day. first time seeing her. so me kevin and noelle were practicing our songs. playing a fool la. haa. after dinner we had english class again. taught them bible verses. haa. and they learn realli fast! (:

after that we girls talked again. and this time mi neng joined us too la. then me and noelle got to noe her a lil bit more. and then pu ying i thin she heard wrongly or smthg la. but in the end i had to drink the coffee that she made for me cos she thought i wanted to drink. haa. but luckily coffee and tea have no effect on me (: and then it was slumber time (: zzZzZZ

taught them new songs again. and then they had their games time once more. after that we did our handicraft. whoa!! messymessymessy!! i had like glue and colours from the markers on my fingers. kevin hand was dirtier. haa. noelle`s too. haa! after that me and kevin went to teach mi neng how to play a song on the piano. not bad she learn quite fast.

then it was time for our evening walk again! this time we walked allll the way up to the villas. cos there`s this rich business man from bangkok and he bought a reallllllliiiiiiii big piece of land area. and he built many tiny villas for his foreign frens to stay in la. very very very nice. and the view from the top. was breath taking (: as we walked we were like "waa! so nice la!" haa. i think we sound like fools. as we walked, we just talked and crapped ard. laughing our time away (: den we headed back home for dinner. and then our english lessons.

after our usual night chat, the rest went to slp. but me kevin and mi neng contd to sit at the swing there and talk. and mi neng was like telling me and kevin ghost stories la. make me have goosebumps. den we all went back to our rms to slp cos the next day ew have to wake up reallll early to see how they are going to slaughter the pig that they reared.

woke up at 4.30am. then me, noelle, shimu, aunty fengchu and uncle ji fuwent to see the pig slaughtering process. it was very very cold outside. super cold. anyway. we shall just skip the whole part abt the pig being slaughtered.urgh. kinda disgusting la. all i cn sae is i din dare to eat pork for a few days after that. and guess what. cos they kept some pork and the rest they sold to the villagers la. and we had pork for brunch and dinner. great rite ? -_-" haa

after that uncle ji fu and aunty fengchu they all went back to singapore already. they had to leave first cos i think their nephew was getting married or smthg. anyway, after brunch we watch Kungfu Hustle, and then i was kinda tired. fell aslp halfway. haa :P after the movie we did art&craft again. this time it was super messy la. cos me and mi neng were helping kevin with his photoframe. afte finishing it, my hands were realli dirty and i dnoe wad came over me but i used the paint to paint my fingers. then i tricked mi neng into shaking hands with me, haa! her hand was dirty too. then we wanted to trick shimu but i think she noe already la. haa. (: noelle also poor thing. she was doing the blowpen art design for the kids. cos of hygiene purpose, she was the one that was blowing the dsigns for the kids. blow untill her mouth pain.haa :P

after that we cleared the table and had our lunch. then we went for our walk! this time shimu came along. the scenery never fail to make me amaze. simply beautiful. i love the nature alot. too bad we cnt see much of it in singapore. anyway. it was time to go home. after dinner. we had some games. play untill so noisy haa :D but i was kinda sad at that time too. cos we had to leave the next day. at night when everyone was aslp already. i was lying on the bed. thinking abt the time passed. and how i wish everything cn be repeated again. thinking thinking and then i fell aslp.

woke up in the morning.and me and noelle was like "i dn want to go leh. how? *sigh*" we brought our lugguage down and then we had our breakfast. during breakfast i cldnt eat la. no mood. cos i was too sad to eat. thn i was like stoning then Pastor Hu ask me why im not eating. then he say i miss my home ah. thn i just shake my head. then the other pastor, Pastor Luo say, you miss the place here is it? and then i just nod my head. cnt speak cos i scared i will cry. after breakfast when the girls came to collect our bowls i cldnt bear it la. i teared a lil. then i just quickly rubbed it off and went to take my lugguage out from the rm. i thought i cld hold back my tears. but when i sae mina and puying crying and shimu consoling them and she herself crying. tears just flowed. cldnt bear to leave them. and then me and noelle quickly went up on the truck. she din want to see them cos she will cry. then mi neng came up on the truck too. cos uncle xuewen, the driver, was giving her a lift back to where she stays, Mae-Sai. then she was crying too. as i sat in the truck i saw puying and when she wave gdbye to me, i cried again, and as the truck left, you cld see them waving and crying, shouting gdbye and asking us to come back soon. tears flowed once more. through out the journey we were like quiet cos we were all kinda sad and depressed. then at the airport we had to say gdbye again to mi neng and uncle xuewen. haizz. i nv like to sae gdbyes. and then it was home sweet home all the way.


going on this trip was a very enriching experience for me. something that i will never forget. something that i missed alot. going there. blending into their life, learning their way of life, laughing and talking with them. everyday was so relaxing and full of enjoyment. away from the hustle and bustle of city life. the innocence and naiveness of the kids there. like you`re closer to heaven. i miss the pple there alot. i miss the pace of life there alot. i miss the nature and scenery there alot. so many things to miss.

mabbe wad i describe here abt the daily happenings may not sound realli intersting or watever. but as i said. describing is not enough. you must realli experience it yourself.

evening walks&sillytalks

hello pple. haa. been missing for abt a week or so. hehe (: cos i went for my church mission trip to Chiang Rai Grace Home from 10 mar to 18 mar. just got home ytd night. abt 10 pple went for this mission trip. Me, Wu Shimu, her 2 kids-kevin and karis, noelle, aunty helen, aunty fengchu, uncle ji fu and their 2 kids-han en and shi en.

the Chiang Rai mission trip was absolutely great! i miss the Grace Home so much. esp. the kids there. so many things to say. guess i wun describe much here.

life there is very simple and relaxing. i love&miss waking up every morning to the voices of the children singing songs, looking at the hills and greenery, the laughter the children and i shared everyday, the pace of life, the childrens` beautiful voices, the noises the dogs and chickens make early in the morning, the look of the smiles on the childrens` faces, the time spent together. taking long walks during the evening. talking tgther till late at night etc ..

the trip there was indeed fulfilling too. teaching those kids english. seeing them eager to learn. getting to make lots of frens there. pple like Mi Neng, Pu Ying, Mi Na, Mi Pa, Ya Fei, Pu Piao etc ..

on the last day, everyone was so sad. everyone was crying. when i saw them crying, i cldn`t hold back my tears anymore. we all cried when we`re leaving. looking at them waving and saying gdbyes, asking us to come back soon. haizz.

i miss Grace Home so much. if i have the chance to go back again. i`ll definitely go.

im going overseas from the 10th of march till 18th of march. off to thailand for my mission trip with some of the chrch pple. guess it`s gonna be a whole new experience for me. and a fun on too la. it's been 3 yrs since i last went there. this time, im going there to teach the kids english, art&craft, new songs etc .. cnt wait to go and see how much the children have grown. hope that this trip will be a fruitful and fulfilling one (:
